Each member of our leadership team brings their own unique gifts and talents to the library as an unpaid volunteer, but is united by a passion for Saint Francis, a love of books, a thirst for knowledge, a desire to serve (especially the homeless), and a commitment to excellence. And although we are all cross-trained and share the seemingly never-ending work load, each staff member is responsible for a specific area of the library:

  • Br. Allen A. White, OSF | Founder, Director, Curator
  • Dr. Frances Mallow Taylor | Head Librarian | Research
  • Susan Fratcher | Assistant Librarian | Community Relations
  • LeslieAnn White | Assistant Librarian | Conservation
  • Cathy Sullivant | Assistant Librarian | Digital Cataloging

In addition to our staff, we are thankful to the members of the Hope Center Houston Interfaith Committee for their collective wisdom, guidance, encouragement and support of the Saint Francis of Assisi Research Library.

  • Br. Allen A. White, OSF | Chairperson
  • Debbie Johnson | Founder & Immediate Past President of HCH
  • Deacon Larry Vines
  • Jan Papciak

We are both blessed and grateful to have so many friends and amazing volunteers who give so generously of their time, resources, talents, and books! We would especially like to acknowledge the following individuals for their extraordinary contributions to and support of the library:

Rev. Randall Trego • Bob Butler • Robert Miller • LeslieAnn White • Debbie Johnson • Frances Taylor • Gay Morris • Karen Kiefer • Gerald R. Gioglio, OFS • Colorado Springs Franciscans (OFS) •
